July 1st Fort Clatsop

    We arrived at Fort Clatsop, outside of Astoria, Oregon, this morning. As we went to park, we found out that today was the first day of the summer that you had to drive to the remote parking area and take a bus over to the fort. Under normal circumstances this wouldn’t be an issue, but with three dogs it is kind of tricky. Strangely, they were fine with the dogs riding the bus. Each pooch boarded as though we’d done this many times before and, in fact, Vivian climbed right onto a seat.
Tom took a lot of pictures so we can use them later in designing our camp. We bought a lot of old folk music, flags and other things we hope will be useful later.
